Aaron Tucker

October 2
Exhibition : INDUSTRIAL DESIGN with artist, Aaron Tucker.
5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Join us for an Opening Reception for Asheville artist Aaron Tucker on Thursday, October 2, 2008 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Aaron Tucker is a southern artist who finds inspiration in marks, scratches, and half images. His work is aged and weathered, and the color is raw. He draws heavily from antique children's books, isolating images then replacing original content with a new, fractured perspective.

Aaron has always worked in both oil and paint and collage, using one to influence the other.
"Several years ago I began collecting colored scraps of paper, which I found useful in developing the structure for paintings. Finding marks left behind by children in books from years past drove me toward scratching marks into wet paint mimicking the uninhibited hand."

The exhibition entitled "Industrial Design" will be on display from October 2 until October 30, 2008.
